Chrissie Hynde

Chrissie Hynde was born in Akron, Ohio, and moved to London in the early 1970s, where she worked in the music press and followed the punk scene. In 1978, she formed the Pretenders, who released their first album in 1980.

The album featured “Brass in Pocket” and “Precious”; Pretenders II came the following year. After the deaths of members of the original lineup, Hynde kept the group going with different musicians. She also released solo work, such as Stockholm, in 2014.
