Cássia Eller was born in Rio, grew up in Brasília and released her first record in 1990, with a deep voice that could go from a whisper to a roar within the same line.
She sang Cazuza, Renato Russo, Nando Reis and the Beatles with the same raw commitment, and made Malandragem, Por Enquanto and O Segundo Sol fixtures of Brazilian music. She died in December 2001, months after an Acústico MTV that became a phenomenon.
To hear one of the freest voices in Brazilian music, somewhere between rock and song.
