Carcass

Carcass formed in Liverpool in 1985 and released Reek of Putrefaction (1988) and Symphonies of Sickness (1989), records associated with grindcore and the medical imagery that defined their lyrics. With Necroticism – Descanting the Insalubrious, the band expanded its technical approach before bringing death metal closer to melody on Heartwork (1993).

After Swansong (1996), the band split up and returned in 2007. Surgical Steel (2013) and Torn Arteries (2021) continued the discography.
