Formed in New York in 1974, Blondie emerged from the city's punk and new wave scene, with Debbie Harry and Chris Stein among the founders. The band gained international recognition with 1978's Parallel Lines, which featured Heart of Glass, and expanded their blend of styles on Autoamerican, released in 1980.
After The Hunter, the group disbanded in 1982. Harry and Stein reunited Blondie with the members in 1997; No Exit came out in 1999.
