Beck

Beck Hansen made the collision of styles a language of his own. Emerging from the Los Angeles alternative scene, he turned folk, hip hop, funk, noise, electronics and melancholy song into albums that rarely repeat the same formula.

The success of “Loser” opened the door, but albums such as Odelay, Sea Change and Morning Phase showed a songwriter able to switch between irony, experimentation and intimacy. Ride Lonesome, from 2026, returns to his contemplative side without erasing the restlessness that runs through his career.

Why listen to Beck?

To hear American music come apart and recombine in unexpected shapes.
