Arctic Philharmonic

Created in 2009 from the former Tromsø Symphony Orchestra, the Arctic Philharmonic (Arktisk Filharmoni) is based in both Tromsø and Bodø and is one of the largest cultural institutions in northern Norway. It brings together a chamber orchestra, a sinfonietta devoted to the 20th and 21st centuries and an opera company, giving about 150 concerts a year.

Outside the classical repertoire, it moves toward pop in projects such as True North, recorded with a-ha above the Arctic Circle.
