Anneli Drecker

Anneli Drecker is one of the most distinctive voices of northern Norway. Born in Tromsø, she co-founded Bel Canto in 1985, a group that took Scandinavian dream pop into ethereal, electronic landscapes on records such as Shimmering, Warm & Bright and Magic Box.

In her solo career, from Tundra to Rocks & Straws, she deepened her dialogue with the Arctic landscape and with poetry. On stage, she became a regular presence alongside a-ha, sharing vocals on “Crying in the Rain”.
