Anneke van Giersbergen

Dutch singer and guitarist Anneke van Giersbergen rose to prominence as the vocalist of The Gathering, which she joined in 1994. Her debut with the group, Mandylion, came out in 1995 and marked the band’s shift to a more atmospheric sound.

She left The Gathering in 2007 to pursue a solo career, first with the project Agua de Annique, and released records such as Everything Is Changing and The Darkest Skies Are the Brightest. She also collaborated with Devin Townsend Project and Ayreon.
