Amyl and the Sniffers emerged in Melbourne in 2016, when Amy Taylor and her housemates formed a band and recorded the EP Giddy Up in a few hours. The debut album, Amyl and the Sniffers, came out in 2019 and won Best Rock Album at the ARIA Awards. Comfort to Me, from 2021, widened the group’s reach; in 2024, the band released Cartoon Darkness.
