Amoy Ribas

Born in Brasília, Amoy Ribas began playing percussion as a child while living in India with his family. Back in Brazil, he became involved with congado and reisado in Pirapora and studied guitar in Brasília before spending time in Pernambuco, where he encountered maracatu and forró. He recorded with Hermeto Pascoal and other musicians, played with Hamilton de Holanda, and released his own work, including Tambores de Apuama.
