Widespread Panic

Widespread Panic formed in Athens, Georgia, in the mid-1980s, from musicians who met at the University of Georgia. The debut album, Space Wrangler, came out in 1988 and helped widen its audience. The band rose to prominence with records like Everyday and Ain’t Life Grand; in 2002, guitarist Michael Houser died, and John Bell, Dave Schools and the other members carried on.
