Waldirene

Waldirene was born in São Paulo and began performing with her family as a child. In 1966, she started performing solo in clubs and released her first single. The following year, “Garota do Roberto”, by Carlos Imperial and Eduardo Araújo, became her biggest hit and earned her an appearance on the TV Record show Jovem Guarda.

She kept recording and performing, and in 2005 released a CD under the name Waldireni, a form close to her birth name.
