Stratovarius

Stratovarius emerged in Helsinki, Finland, in 1984, initially as Black Water, and adopted its current name the following year. After an early phase marked by Fright Night and Dreamspace, the arrival of singer Timo Kotipelto preceded a period of greater exposure.

Episode (1996) and Visions (1997) cemented the band’s melodic power metal sound, followed by Destiny and Infinite. After guitarist Timo Tolkki’s departure, the group continued with new members and released Survive in 2022.
