Silvinha

Silvinha was born in Mariana, Minas Gerais, and grew up in São João del-Rei, where she sang in the choir organized by her mother. At 14, she appeared on a compilation from the Mocambo label; in 1967, she released her first solo single.

Tied to the Jovem Guarda movement, she grew close to singer Eduardo Araújo, whom she married and with whom she recorded, including “Rebu geral”, from 1981. She also appeared on television shows and kept working in music until her death in 2008.
