Orquestra Jazz de Matosinhos

Established in 1997 in Matosinhos, Orquestra Jazz de Matosinhos grew out of Héritage Big Band, founded by Pedro Guedes. Beginning in 1999, with support from the City Council, it solidified its lineup and began developing its own repertoire and projects with musicians from Portugal and abroad.

Its albums include Portology, with Lee Konitz, Our Secret World, with Kurt Rosenwinkel, and Amoras e Framboesas, with Maria João. The orchestra remains active, performing and providing jazz education.
