Moreira da Silva

Moreira da Silva was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1902 and built a career rooted in samba de breque, with spoken breaks and tales of streetwise rogues. Na subida do morro and Acertei no milhar are among the hits he recorded, and the character Kid Morengueira appeared in sambas such as O rei do gatilho.

He released records over several decades and, in 1995, recorded Três malandros in Concert with Bezerra da Silva and Dicró. He died in 2000.
