Miúcha, the stage name of Heloísa Buarque de Hollanda, Chico Buarque’s sister, lived bossa nova from the inside: she was married to João Gilberto, is the mother of Bebel Gilberto and recorded with Stan Getz.
In the 1970s, she released two albums alongside Tom Jobim, on which her small, in-tune, humor-filled voice became the maestro’s ideal partner. She died in 2018, leaving a body of work marked by lightness, intimacy and the affectionate memory of Rio song.
