Joyce Moreno was born in Rio de Janeiro and began her music career in the 1960s, performing songs at festivals. She released her first album, Joyce, in 1968 and, after a period devoted to her family, returned to recording with Nelson Angelo in 1973.
In the 1980s, the album Feminina and the song Clareana brought her wider recognition in Brazil. She continued composing, recording, and performing in Brazil and abroad; her work includes Astronauta, a tribute to Elis Regina, and Slow Music.
