Dori Caymmi

Dori Caymmi was born in Rio de Janeiro into a family of musicians and began his professional career in 1959, accompanying his sister Nana on piano. He worked as a producer at Philips and served as musical director for stage productions such as Opinião and Arena conta Zumbi.

He also composed for film and television. In 1989 he moved to Los Angeles, where he recorded Brazilian Serenata with Milton Nascimento; he returned to Rio in 1999. In 2006 he released Rio-Bahia with Joyce and, in 2013, recorded Caymmi with his siblings Nana and Danilo.
