Cama de Gato formed in Rio de Janeiro as an instrumental quartet with Mauro Senise, Romero Lubambo, Nilson Matta and Pascoal Meirelles. After playing nightclubs, the group released its first album, Cama de Gato, in 1986. Guerra Fria followed in 1988, and Dança da Lua in 1993. Personnel changes reshaped the lineup over the years, bringing in keyboards and percussion while keeping the group rooted in Brazilian instrumental music.
