As Bahias e a Cozinha Mineira

Formed in São Paulo by history students at USP, the group brought together vocalists and songwriters Raquel Virgínia and Assucena and guitarist and arranger Rafael Acerbi. Their first album, Mulher, came out in 2015 and brought together Brazilian song and themes of gender.

Bixa, released in 2017, won the Prêmio da Música Brasileira for best album. In 2020, the trio adopted the name As Baías and moved their sound closer to pop before ending their activities as a group.
