Amorphis

Formed in Helsinki in 1990, Amorphis began in death metal and found its voice by diving into the Kalevala, the Finnish national poem. Tales from the Thousand Lakes opened the way to a melodic metal with ’70s keyboards, folk lines and Nordic melancholy.

With the arrival of Tomi Joutsen on Eclipse, the band settled into a phase of rare consistency, in which growled and clean vocals, heavy riffs and folk-song melodies coexist as parts of the same legend.
