Alceu Maia

Cavaquinho player, composer, arranger and producer Alceu Maia started on acoustic guitar and took up the cavaquinho at a student festival. Beth Carvalho invited him to accompany her onstage, and he formed A Fina Flor do Samba, which toured with the singer and also developed its own choro-based work. Maia recorded with artists such as Clara Nunes, Martinho da Vila and Leci Brandão and produced Júnior's Voa Canarinho!.
